My name is Jade. I'm a 25-year-old Spanish Linguistics student from Canada. I have been designing for almost 10 years, and all of my design skills (HTML, graphics, PHP, etc.) are self-taught. I would say that the common quality that almost all my designs share is a focus on lines and geometric shapes. My designs are generally clean and simple, and shapes help me to keep it that way.

I have a number of websites, the latest of which is Princess Watson, which is my first fansite in a few years. I'm very excited about it. I have a scan archive called Overstock, where I put all the scans I make of fashion magazines (my addiction). I have also run a graphics challenge site for five years (it may be the longest-running challenge site online), named Feels Like Rain Blends, which focuses on letting the visitors voice their opinions about the art that is submitted. Designing is a true passion of mine, sort of an extension of myself, so I look at Speak! as an opportunity to do what I love rather than doing "a job".

In my free time, I like to flip through magazines, cook, listen to music (especially Regina Spektor, Radiohead and Coldplay) and write. I'm also a serious language nerd and learn as much about linguistics and individual languages as I can.

In the three years that I've been designing at Speak!, a number of people have had really kind things to say to me about my designs and service. While compliments are always nice to hear, the comments that really hit home are of the "thank you" sort. I really enjoy hearing that my designs have been able to let a webmaster worry about one less thing, or that even though they've had bad experiences before, they felt like a valued customer when they worked with me (which, if you ask me, is how it should be). These are the things that make me love designing for others!
